The Magnum-Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Major League quarter-finals kick off tonight with a double-header at the Constant Spring Sports Complex.

In the first game, Molynes United face Olympic Gardens at 6:30 p.m. to be followed by Cooreville Gardens against Swallowfield United at 8:30 p.m.

Preseason favourites Molynes finished second in Zone A during the preliminary stage and will face Zone B third-place finishers Olympic Gardens to decide the first semi-finalists.

Calvert Fitzgerald, the coach of Molynes United, is happy with his team's preliminary stage performances and is now looking forward to getting past Olympic.

MOLYNES COACH SATISFIED

"We have been training well and I'm pretty satisfied with the team. We are aware that it is the knockout stage, so the players are ready to give of their best," veteran coach Fitzgerald told The Gleaner ahead of tonight's game.

Olympic Gardens coach Michael Peart said his team is peaking at the right time.

"We started the first round badly by losing five games but did not lose in the second round. The team is peaking at the right time, so I expect a good game," Peart said.

In the second game, the Tamara Williams-coached Cooreville Gardens are given the nod. Cooreville are on a high after only losing once in the preliminary stage to top Zone A. On the other hand, Swallowfield struggled, but made the top-four from Zone B and must lift their performance to upset their opponents.

The quarter-finals will continue tomorrow night with another double-header at the same venue.
