The annual Tony Kelly Classic Skeet tournament, held to commemorate the life of Jamaica Skeet Club founder Tony Kelly, will get under way 8 a.m. today in Portmore, St Catherine.

Fifty-nine shooters have registered for the day's competition. They will compete in four rounds of skeet, totalling 100 birds.

Three skeet fields will be used and a draw for fields will take place at the start of each rotation today while team classification will be based on the scores in last year's competition.

Jamaica Skeet Club president Evan Thwaites is looking forward to an enjoyable day of shooting.

"I look forward to an enjoyable day tomorrow as we commemorate our founder, Tony Kelly," Thwaites said yesterday.

He called on the shooters to be on station and ready to start on time, noting that competitors who are late will be scratched or allowed to shoot at a later time if space permits.
