ATHLETICS: Taylor clocks 20.38 to win gold at Junior Pan Am

Christopher Taylor won Jamaica's first gold medal at the X1X Junior Pan Am Championships in Trujillo, Peru today.
Competing in the half lap event for the first time at an international meet, the Taylor clocked an impressive 20.38 seconds to beat Tyrese Cooper of the United States, 20.59 with Brazil's Derrick deSouza Silva taking bronze in 20.77.
Jamaica placed fourth and fifth in the girls' final. Patrice Moodie and Sasheika Cameron clocked 24.04 and 24.21 seconds respectively. The gold medal went to Canada's Ashian Best in 23.27.
