SASKATOON, Saskatchewan CMC):

Trinidadian Shawn Samuel rode three winners and Jamaican Neville Stephenson, two, as Caribbean jockeys dominated the seven-race programme at Marquis Downs on Friday.

Riding at the western Canada oval, Samuel picked up wins in race one with favourite Just a Girl, in race four with another favourite Bell Zone, before also capturing race seven with 5-1 chance Classy Can.

Stephenson, meanwhile, won with 3-1 bet Fcmiraculouscode in race three and favourite Hotaling Heart in race five.

The success left Stephenson, Samuel, and Trinidadian Naim Samaroo all on 14 wins in a three-way tie at the top of the standings.

Front-running effort

Samuel opened his account in a four-furlong sprint when he made all the running with roan filly Just a Girl to beat the two-year-old maidens by 3-3/4 lengths.

He returned to the winner's circle courtesy of another front-running effort when he partnered with 10-year-old bay gelding Bell Zone to dismiss the three-year-old and upward by 1-1/2 lengths.
