Sakima 'The Mauler' Mullings becomes the first ever two time Wray & Nephew Contender Boxing Series champion after a sixth round technical knockout win over Canadian Phil 'The Assassin' Rose at the Mico University College last night.

Mullings was in control from start to finish as Rose, who said he felt dazed after shots to the head, began to progressively fade throughout the bout.

Referee Steve Smoger was forced to put a stop to the match and put Rose out of his misery one minute and eight seconds into the sixth round after he was knocked down, then found himself under constant attack when Mullings trapped him in the corner and reigned blows down on him.

Mullings said he was victorious because of effective counter attacking.

Earlier in the night 2015 champion Kemahl 'The Hitman' Russell scored a knockout victory over Trinidadian Nigel Edwards in the professional under card bout.
