PARIS (AP):

Paris Saint-Germain beat five-time champions Bayern Munich 3-0 in the Champions League yesterday with unstoppable football from their super-expensive attack.

The French team tore the German visitors' defence apart on the counterattack and took command of Group B with goals from Dani Alves, Edinson Cavani and Neymar.

Kylian Mbappe, who was hired alongside Neymar this summer for a combined US$470 million, did not score but tormented the Bayern defence throughout with his dribbling ability and frenetic pace. He was decisive in setting up Neymar's goal.

Impressive start

Manchester United continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-1 away victory at CSKA Moscow with Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace with Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan adding the other goals. Barcelona had to rely on an own goal to defeat Sporting on the road with Juventus saving their goals for the second half as substitute Gonzalo Higuain and Mario Mandzukic got on the scoresheet.

Antoine Griezmann and Alvaro Morata found the back of the net as Atletico Madrid and Chelsea were heading towards a draw before Michy Batshuayi scored a tap in the last minute of the game to win the game for the Londoners.

Roma beat Qarabag 2-1 while Cletic hammered Anderlecht 3-0, while Basel were rampant, winning 5-0 against Benfica.
