Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) president, Michael Ricketts, says contractual details for the new general secretary Dalton Wint, director of football Wendell Downswell, national football coach Theodore Whitmore and assistant (Jerome Waite, are still being finalised but he expects paperwork to be completed within two weeks.

All the above appointees were confirmed at a quarterly meeting last weekend and will be contracted for a two-year period. They officially start duties today.

"We have not yet worked out all the details ... we have to sit with these gentleman, sit with a legal counsel and go through it, because there must be a termination clause and things like that ... The board has decided that contracts will be for two years contracts," Ricketts explained.

Meanwhile, in keeping with his mandate to place special emphasis on youth development, Ricketts said the federation named a new committee for this purpose at the recent meeting.

Standing committees

"We have put in place a number of standing committees. We have formulated a new national youth development committee and that is in keeping with our mandate to ensure youth football gets some special attention.

Andre Virtue will steer that committee. Director Linnell McLean will supervise this committee," he explained.

There is also a marketing and fundraising committee that includes George Evans, Ricky Chin and Donovan White. However, plans to capitalise on merchandising will depend on how soon the federation can find a new kit sponsor.

"We expect that merchandising and fundraising will be key components of the marketing committee, which will place emphasis on merchandising. But as soon as we can resigned a kit sponsor we will start putting up merchandise," he said.

Former general secretary Raymond Grant has been put in charge of an infrastructural development committee, which will oversee improving and maintaining JFF properties, such as the JFF/UWI Captain Burrell Centre of Excellence.

"He will be responsible for maintenance and improving these structures," Ricketts stated.
