Arnett exec willing to work with Golding to make changes

Arnett Gardens Football Club president Patrick Roberts says the path is now clear for new St Andrew South Member of Parliament (MP) Mark Golding to assume the position of chairman of the popular football club.
He added that the executive is willing to work with Golding to make the changes he wants as long as the changes are done amicably.
"The former chairman (Dr Omar Davies) will convene a meeting ... and as soon as that happens, you will get an update," Roberts told The Sunday Gleaner.
The position of chairman of Arnett Gardens Football club is usually reserved for the constituency's MP. Davies, the former People's National Party MP who resigned in June, has already endorsed Golding, who defeated the Jamaica Labour Party's Dane Dennis in the recent by-election.
Earlier this year when Davies recommended Golding for the position of chairman, there was negative feedback from the Arnett Gardens FC executive. They insisted that he had not yet been elected and that he had to win his seat before he could take over the role. But with the by-election now in the past and with a new MP elected for the constituency, Roberts declared that the executive is now ready to work with Golding and help make the changes he is looking to implement.
"Yes, man, every time (willing to work with him). Everything is about communication and dialogue. Nothing is cast in stone. So it's just to communicate and do things amicably," he stated.
Meanwhile, although not wanting to say much, Golding insists that he will only assume the role of club chairman if the players and the community are willing to make the changes he will be proposing.
"I don't really want to speak on it at this time because there is not anything I can share with you. But if the community wants me to assume that role, and if the community and the players want the changes that I am interested in pursuing and want me to play that role, then I am willing to play it. But I am not in a position to speak on it yet," Golding told The Sunday Gleaner.
