UWI FC stretched their unbeaten run against Tivoli Gardens in the Red Stripe Premier League (RSPL) to seven games in three seasons, after they played to a 0-0 draw with the west Kingston club at the Edward Seaga Complex yesterday.

However, UWI FC captain Davion Garrison insisted that they did not play for a draw although his team played most of the match with a majority of their players behind the ball.

Every game we play, we look for three points, but to get one on the road is a positive result. We will just keep working and see if we can fix it on Sunday against Waterhouse.

"Each team has their time in the game and Tivoli had most of the time because it is their home game. But we stayed disciplined and got a point and we are grateful for that," he added.

The home team controlled most of the attacking play throughout the contest and had good chances through Andre Moulton, Howard Morris and Colorado Murray. UWI FC did come into their own late into the contest and put the hosts under some pressure and could have stolen all three points.

The result keeps the university team in third with 19 points, the same as Tivoli. But despite a slight dip in form since they lost to Arnett Gardens, Garrison is convinced they will get things right for the next round.

"I wouldn't say the team has fallen off. We have had some inconsistencies, and a few players were unavailable due to work commitment. Now, we will put in the hard work and hopefully, things will be back to normal soon. For the second round, we would like to gain about 24 points (more), so we will keep working and hopefully we will reach there," he said..

Meanwhile, Tivoli coach Omar Edwards, said although his team did not get a goal they have improved offensively over the past few weeks, and they hope to continue doing so going into the next round.

In another match yesterday Reno clipped Sandals South Coast 2-1.
