Rural netball quarter-finals in spotlight tomorrow

Defending junior champions Holmwood Technical and senior title holders Denbigh High have topped their respective groups to advance to tomorrow's rural quarter-finals of the ISSA schoolgirls netball competition. The quarter-finals will be played at Manchester High starting at 9 a.m.

In the junior section, the quarter-finalists are group winners Denbigh, Glenmuir High, St Thomas Technical, Holmwood, and group runners-up in the respective groups Porus High, Guys Hill High, Manchester High and May Day High.

Among the seniors, the eight quarter-finalists are group winners Denbigh, Manchester High, Holmwood, Charlemont, and they and they are joined by respective runners-up St. Thomas Technical, Dinthill, Albert Town, and Anchovy.

Defending champions Holmwood and Manchester will meet in the feature game among the juniors. In other matches Denbigh go up against Porus, St. Thomas meet May Day and Glenmuir face Guy's Hill.

Denbigh, despite losing most of their best players from last year to local tertiary institutions, are favoured to get by St Thomas Technical in their senior game. Holmwood, the most impressive team leading up to this stage, will meet Albert Town, while in the other matches, Manchester High will play Dinthill and Charlemont go up against Anchovy.
