Magnum 'tek charge' of Super and Major League competitions

J. Wray and Nephew through its Magnum tonic drink brand poured $5.7 million into the upcoming Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Super League and Major League competitions that are scheduled to kick-off on December 10 at Constant Spring Complex.

Magnum apart, associate sponsors Charles Chocolate and Sunshine Snacks have added another $2 million for a total sponsorship of $7.7 million.

J. Wray and Nephew marketing manager Celecia Lindo-Johnson said that her company will 'tek charge' of the competitions for the last five months.

"J. Wray & Nephew Limited is proud to continue our support of the sport. We see Magnum KSAFA Super League as a strong developmental platform for our nation's football; as this sport plays a very important role in fostering positive social energy in many of our nation's communities, often filling a social void," Lindo-Johnson said during yesterday's launch at J Wray and Nephew's Corporate office in New Kingston..

"From December second to the end of May 2018, Magnum Tonic Wine will "Tek Charge"of the league through raising the in-game experience for our patrons, while they are at the games," she said.

"We know our patrons are as passionate about the game sometimes, even more than the players, and their energy and enthusiasm bring excitement to these matches ... Look out for:Magnum Tonic Wine deals at each and every match (the staple will be2-4-$500 special); an increase in the number double headers, we know this is a great value added for our patrons, more Friday Night Football staging - this is an opportunity to bring the Magnum energy to the football experience we love, creating an elevated experience. Finally, another way Magnum will 'Tek Charge' is with our Magnum Vixens in the stands, engaging our patrons and taking the products so they don't have to leave your seat to have a drink," Lindo-Johnson elaborated.

KSAFA President Wayne Shaw disclosed that the Magnum Super League champion will earn $300,000. The runners-up will get $250,000; third place - $2000,000 and fourth place - $150,000. The mid-season winner is guaranteed $50,000.

In the Major League, the winner will earn $200,000; second place - $150,000; third place - $100,000 and fourth place - $75,000.

The Super League will have 12 teams while the Major League will see 16 teams battling for the title.
