Jamaica Cycling Federation (JCF) national coach, Carlton Simmonds, says that plans are at an advanced stage to have cyclist Oshane Williams relocated to Kingston from Catherine Hall in St James to continue preparations for April's Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Williams, 23, was confirmed by the JCF earlier this month to represent the country at the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.

"We are hoping to get him in Kingston before the week ends. The dialogue is happening and things will be put in place, that much I can say. Something will happen not only for Oshane, but the entire JCF programme." Simm-onds told The Gleaner yesterday.

"I don't think the crime situation is an issue with Mr Williams' training. He lives in the Catherine Hall area. He is on his bike. He is training. We are in dialogue. It would be in his best interest to adhere to the program-me," he also shared.

Simmonds said that he could not say how much money will be needed to cover Williams' preparation for the Commonwealth Games.

"I cannot speak on that right now. The board will meet and make a decision," the coach said.

Williams had replaced Marloe Rodman, who is facing manslaughter and other charges following a fatal accident last November 26 in St Catherine. Rodman is set to face court to answer the charges today.
