Bloomfield breaks national indoor 400m record

Former Kingston College quarter-miler Akeem Bloomfield is the new national indoor record holder in the 400 metres following his 45.02 seconds run on Friday night at the Tiger Paw Classics in Clemson.
Bloomfield, a sophomore at the University of Auburn, finished second behind Michael Norman of University of Southern California who clocked 45.00 for the win.
Nathan Strother of Tennessee finished third in 45.56.
The previous national indoor record in the 400m was 45.37 done by Pete Coley in 2002.
