Carifta Games 2018 | Jamaicans sweep sprint relays
Jamaican athletes closed the day in style on Sunday's penultimate day of competition at the Flow Carifta Games, by sweeping the sprint relays at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium.
They were led by a record breaking performance from the under-17 girls quartet of Briana Williams, Sasheika Steele, Serena Cole and Tia Clayton, who stopped the clock at 44.95 seconds in a dominant showing by the Jamaicans.
The boys under-17 4x100m was next on the track and the quartet of Jahvel Granville, Vashaun Vascianna, Rajay Morris and Terrique Stennett easily won in 41.04 seconds to continue the dominance.
Not to be outdone, the girls and boys under-20 teams also ensured that the gold medals would return to Jamaica.
The female quartet of Ockera Myrie, Michae Harriot, Ray-donna Lee and Amoi Brown,stopped the clock at 44.73 seconds for their win, while the boys under-20 team of Ryiem Robertson, Christopher Taylor, Xavier Nairne and Michael Bentley, made sure the Jamaicans stayed perfect on the night, after a commanding win in 39.56 seconds in their event.
