Reggae Girls battle Cuba at Waterhouse today

Jamaica women's football team will be looking to top Group B of the Caribbean Football Challenger Series when they take on Cuba today at the Waterhouse Stadium. Kick off time is 5 p.m.

The Reggae Girls, who marginally beat Barbados 3-2 in their first game on Friday, are locked on three points with the Cubans, who top the group on goal difference after thrashing the Barbadians 7-0 in their opening encounter.

To get past the Cubans, though, the local ladies will have to get over the jitters which assistant coach Andrew Price attributes to their lacklustre performance in the game against Barbados.

"I'm a little disappointed, but a lot of it was due to nerves," Price told The Gleaner after the match on Friday. "We had 10 players who were making their debuts at the senior level. They were a bit nervous."

He expects a close and competitive match with Cuba today.

"It is going to be a tough game. I have seen them against Barbados. We just have to go out there and play more collective football. We have to defend well and attack as a unit. Once we do that, the team should be good to go," he said.
