Coaches react to Penn Relays performances

MICHAEL DYKE (Edwin Allen High School)
“It is obvious that we are the sprint factory now among the girls, and we want to stretch our unbeaten runs into double figures. I was a bit nervous when I saw Holmwood in the lead [in the 4x100m] but was very confident in my anchor-leg girl as I knew she would have brought it home. The time was not as fast as expected, and if we had lost, I would have been a bit disappointed, but I think the weather played a part.”

DAVE ANDERSON (Holmwood Technical High School)
“The 4x800m is our bread and butter event at Penn Relays, and I am happy for the girls. With a little more clinical finishes, we could have won the 4x100m and 4x400m, where we finished second”

”This (4x400m) win was not that easy as the other teams were really planning for us and we had to make some tactical changes. We had to change our strategy and put our strongest girl on anchor as a safety measure as we knew once she got the baton in front, it would have been all over.”
