Super League showdown - Barbican, Browns Town clash tonight at Constant Spring

A close and exciting battle is expected tonight when favourites Barbican face Browns Town in the final of the Magnum/KSAFA Super League at the Constant Spring Sports Complex starting at 8:30 p.m.

In the night's curtain-raiser hosts Constant Spring will oppose Meadforest at 6:30 p.m. in the Major League final.

The Super League final is expected to be very competitive as both teams are evenly matched in all departments.

However, Barbican will start as the slight favourites to win tonight's contest having defeated Browns Town 3-1 in their last meeting. They secured their place in the final after a 2-0 win over Rockfort in the semi-finals.

Christopher James, the manager of Barbican, said he is optimistic that they can repeat that feat.

"We are very confident. It is going to be a tougher game, but we are ready for this," said James. "We have prepared well mentally, and so, we just need to keep possession of the ball and score the goals, then we will come out on top."

Barbican will look to captain Ramone McGregor, Andrew Christie, Jermaine Parris and Malique Douglas to lead their charge to victory.

On the other hand, Browns Town, who will be playing in the play-offs for the first time, secured their place in the final following their 4-2 penalty-kick victory over Molynes United in the semi-finals. The teams had played to a 2-2 draw after extra time.

Mark Bennett, manager of Browns Town, said his team is on a high ahead of tonight's final.

"My players are very confident of taking home the title," said Bennett. "This is our first time at this level, but they are relishing the underdog status, and they are going out there to prove everyone wrong."

Tevin Scott, Byron English, Kemar Crawford and Romario Williams should be the leading players for Browns Town.
