Jamaica's Davis Cup team will be aiming for a 3-0 victory when they face Honduras in their fourth match in Group Three Americas Davis Cup qualifiers in Escazu, Costa Rica.

The Jamaicans, who were beaten 3-0 by The Bahamas in their third match of the championships yesterday, must win all three matches today in order to qualify for the final round of the competition.

Jamaica's captain, Dominic Pagon, said that it will be do-or-die for the national side and so they will have to play their best tennis in order to come out on top.

"I feel like we do have a good chance because we can win all three matches if our guys show up and they play their best tennis," said Pagon.

"Every country in this competition is strong and so anything can happen, but once we show up and play our best tennis, then we stand a good chance of going through. But we would have to win in both singles and doubles," he said.

Yesterday's Games

In yesterday's singles action, Dimitri Bird went down 6-1, 6-3 to Phillip Major of The Bahamas before Rowland Phillips was beaten 6-1, 5-7, 5-7 by Baker Newman. Bird and Marcus Malcolm were beaten 6-3, 7-6 by Marvin Rolle and Jody Turnquest in the doubles.

Pagon added that his players fought really hard in yesterday's encounter.

"I am always disappointed whenever we lose, but at the same time, our guys fought really hard during the matches," Pagon said.
