Jamaica-born winger Leon Bailey has signed a two-year deal with fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) to become the company’s official Ambassador.

Andrei Roper, brand manager of KFC, in revealing details of the deal on Thursday, said  his company is delighted to be partnering with the outstanding Bayer Leverkusen player who has been linked with a move to number of Europe’s top clubs including  England's Chelsea and Liverpool and Germany's champion club, Bayern Munich.

“We have signed an arrangement with Leon Bailey and by extension his childhood club Phoenix Academy,  to be a part of our marketing campaign for our flagship product Big Deal leading up to the World Cup and also our World Cup meal, the Winner Box,” said Roper.

“He is going to feature heavily in a couple of television commercials and some digital and social media promotions which will be launched in time for the World Cup.
He added: “Leon is a budding superstar in international football and we know he is one of the brightest football talents to come out of Jamaica and we thought it would have been a great partnership for the KFC brand to have him aligned with Big Deal and the Winner Box.”

The 20-year-old was in excellent form for the Bundesliga outfit last season with an impressive 12 goals and six assists in 34 appearances in all competitions.
