MR UNIVERSE (Gary Richards) wins the 23rd running of the 1200 metres Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Trophy race by 10 lengths at Caymanas Park yesterday.

MR UNIVERSE was in a world by himself, sprinting to an 11-length uncontested victory in yesterday's six-furlong Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame Stakes at Caymanas Park.

The four-year-old chestnut colt made a mockery of the 11-horse field with veteran jockey Gary Richards, winning the open allowance sprint at odds of 4-5 for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta.

The speedster won his fourth race from his last six starts in impressive fashion, suggesting that his next outing at the level should be a mere formality before graduating to grade one.

MR UNIVERSE handed DaCosta back-to-back winners after 3-5 favourite MADAM SECRETARY rallied inside the last half-furlong with champion jockey Omar Walker to win the 1100-metre Leslie McRae Memorial.

DaCosta's double took him further away from his challenger in the trainers' championship, Anthony Nunes, whose lone winner on the 11-race card was 9-1 outsider MUSKETOON with Wesley Henry in the fifth event.

Racing continues on Saturday with the big Jamaica Derby meet.
