President of the Jamaica Football Federation Michael Ricketts says he will await official communication from CONCACAF before commenting on a court ruling in New York that declared that a United States-based company, US Imagina LLC, must pay more than US$6.5 million in restitution to several CONCACAF member associations.

"I have not seen it. I have not got anything official from CFU [the Caribbean Football Union], CONCACAF or FIFA. They have not sent anything to us. ...So as soon as I get something from CONCACAF, but, if not, I will call to find out what exactly it is about," Ricketts told The Gleaner last night.

In a release yesterday CONCACAF said a US district judge in New York sentenced U.S.-based media company, US Imagina, LLC to pay more than $6.5 million in restitution to several member associations. The restitution, it said, arises from fraud crimes committed by US Imagina, LLC in which the member associations were victims.

The restitution payments, which are as follows:

- Honduras FA will get $1,700,000

- Guatemala FA, $790,000

- Costa Rica FA, $600,000

- El Salvador FA, $565,000

- The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) will share $3,000,000 between various member associations under the agreement.

'Pleasing outcome'

According to the release, CONCACAF president Victor Montagliani was pleased with the outcome.

"We are, again, pleased to see tangible results from the confederation's hard work, investment, cooperation and efforts over the past few years.

"These restitution payments would likely not have been awarded if CONCACAF and our football family had not reformed ourselves. The past three years, we have endeavoured to change the culture of football administration in our region and how we do business. We have brought our focus back to football where it should have been all along," he said.
