Hetmyer falls short of century as WI make 354

Enterprising Windies batsman Shimron Hetmyer fell 14 runs short of what would have been a deserved century during the first session of day two of the deciding second Test at Sabina Park this morning.

The 21-year-old stroke-making Guyanese, who resumed on 84, went for 86 as the Windies after resuming in a commanding position of 295 for four were restricted to 354 in their first innings.

Bangladesh, after facing two overs, are 10 without loss at lunch.

Hetmyer, who was in search of his maiden century in sixth appearance, was caught behind off the bowling of fast bowler Abu Jayed in the third over of the day.

His dismissal led to the fall six wickets falling for 59 runs with captain Jason Holder, 33 not out, the only one to offer any resistance.

Off-spin all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, added two wickets to his overnight total to end with leading figures of five for 93.

Jayed, who was wicketless overnight, claimed three for 38. 

The Caribbean side leads the series 1-0.
