Take Walker and Kingswood in Race 4

Well-bred DAISY DUKE, a half-sister to open-allowance campaigner Money Magnet, can give punters a perfect start at a good price in the opening race of the Sunrise-6 at Caymanas Park tomorrow.

The opening event is an 800 metres race for maiden two-year-olds and has attracted just seven starters. DAISY DUKE finished behind most of the field on her July 8 debut but had an excuse as she was slowly out. Trainer Richard Azan has now replaced the tongue tie with a visor, and DAISY DUKE, even with the sparingly used Delroy Beharie aboard, is expected to be more alert at the gate and run an improved race.

Trainer Anthony Nunes has presented punters with a real puzzle in Race Two.

VALDERRAMA, a fairly well-bred three-year-old who slammed a subsequent winner by all of seven lengths on July 7, has been thrown in for a claiming tag of just $250,000. He won in the manner of a good three-year-old, and it is surprising that he has even been placed in claiming company. There is nothing to suggest, however, that PIZZARRO or ACTION MAN, two other leading contenders in the race, should test a good, improving three-year-old, and he is my firm choice to make it two in a row.

JOLLY D should not be opposed in the third. Last time out, over 1000 metres straight (July 7), JOLLY D led all the way to slam $350,000 claimers by almost three lengths. He returns at the same handicap among the same claiming group and will travel 200 metres shorter. In that July 7 race, he was clear by six lengths at the 800 metres mark and is thus a firm banker. Leading rider, apprentice Anthony Thomas will be aboard.

Three-year-old maidens will face the starter in the fourth, and KINGSWOOD, the mount of many-time champion jockey Omar Walker, looks to be a good thing. The grey colt is just returning after a fair debut on May 5, but has been busy on the exercise track. In that debut effort over 1200 metres, KINGSWOOD broke slow and was doing his best work at the end. He will travel an extra 100 metres and should catch rivals deep in the final furlong.

A very poor set of maidens will contest Race Five, and the nod goes to MOVIESTAR, who has the best finishing time for the 1600-metre distance, while REGGAE ROAD ran extremely well in his last outing and is the choice in Race Six.
