Having lost a brother in a motorcycle accident three weeks ago, St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) attacker Ronaldo Webster said he was happy to be able to dedicate yesterday's game-winning hat-trick in the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup to his late sibling.

Webster's goals came in the 48th, 58th and 61st minutes to set up a convincing 3-0 victory for STETHS over Newell High School at Newell playing field in rural schoolboy football action.

"It is very hard because that's my brother - a close one to me - but every time I go on the pitch, I always want to do it for him," said Webster after the game.

"It was tough in the first half, but in the second half, we went to the drawing board, the coaches corrected us on the mistakes we were making and we came out with the three points, and myself with a hat-trick," he added.

Webster, who now has six assists and five goals in two games, is one of the key players for STETHS, but the youngster is keeping his feet on the ground, as he looks to keep up his good start to the season.

"One of the greatest thing in this competition, you have to be consistent."

Assistant coach Davion Dennis, who congratulated Webster for his brilliant individual performance, says he was most impressed with the mental and physical toughness that he displayed despite his loss.

"He had a great performance. He is not in top shape as he is coming back from an injury and lost his brother couple of weeks ago. He's coming back pretty well to score three goals on a pitch like this, added to the fact that the Newell defenders were playing him very tight," said Dennis.

Webster's mother, Kadeen Mullings, said she is proud of the direction her son is going in football.

"I'm always proud to watch him play because he has a passion for the game, so I'm not surprised. I'm just hoping he uses this not negatively, but positively, to push him to be more disciplined and go further in the game," said Mullings.
