Holy Trinity, Wolmer's battle atop Group G

Holy Trinity High School coach Devon 'Pablo' Anderson anticipates that they will have a tough time in their top-of-the-table ISSA/​Digicel Manning Cup Group G clash against the highly fancied Wolmer's Boys at Heroes Circle this afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

Anderson insists that his team is far from the finished article even though they have taken three wins from their three games in this season's competition.

Although players like Ray Evelyn, Phillon Lawrence, Dillion McEnnis, and Nicholas Thomas have turned up and have done well in the competition for Holy Trinity so far, Anderson believes that they are still not near where they hope to be but insists that they have done some work since their last game against Pembroke Hall on Friday, and he is hoping to see more improvements from that last outing.

"We will try to get it together and get it right for Monday. We are not halfway where we want to be as yet, but step by step, we are getting closer to where we want to reach. But we will be aiming for a win," he added.

SOLID DEFENCE

Wolmer's are second to Holy Trinity on goals scored, with the latter netting two more than the Alex Thomas-coached team. But Wolmer's have been good at both ends of the field as they look solid in defence and have been clinical up front, scoring seven unanswered goals in their three matches.

Wolmer's will start as favourites for the contest, and their hopes for victory will rest on the likes of national youth representative Dushane Bernard, Rushane Thompson, Tyrone Small, Rivaldo Mitchell, and goalkeeper Tajay Green.

Holy Trinity, with nine points, lead the group on goal difference ahead of Wolmer's. They are followed by Pembroke Hall and Edith Dalton James with three points each. Waterford and Jose Marti are next with one point apiece.
