After their 3-1 victory over Spot Valley High School to maintain a comfortable six-point lead in Zone C of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup, Delroy Delisser, the coach of Cedric Titus High School says he is now focused on making a deep run in the competition.

Spot Valley got the lead in the 14th minute from a Cedric Titus own goal but Kyle Lewin (23rd), Andre Coleman (38th) and Shannon Blake (49th) fought back to secure all three points for the hosts.

"Basically it's a rounded team so we are pushing as much as we can to get to the semi-finals. For the past two years we made it to the inter-zone round and we faltered. This year we want to take a step further as we want to make a mark in the daCosta Cup this season," said Delisser.

Delisser was impressed by the strong character his team showed in picking up maximum points after trailing early from an own goal. Cedric Titus scored three goals but Delisser still believes there is a lot more to be done going into the second round.

"Our downfall is that we need to start scoring more goals. We need to work on our shooting, presence and confidence in front of goal... We were working on it yesterday and we got three goals today so that's a plus so we will continue to work at it," said Delisser.

"Cedric are a fighting team and have always shown a lot of guts. We have the ability to run longer than many of our opponents in the daCosta Cup so we try not to concede in the first half and then push for goals in the second," he added.
