Anthony Nunes’ I AM DI ONE turned in a commanding gate-to-wire performance on her second outing, humbling Wayne DaCosta’s 6-5 favourite, LADY BLUE, in yesterday’s 1000 Guineas at a mile.

A massive filly, who showed good pace when winning at six furlongs on debut, I AM DI ONE took control from the start, dwarfing LADY BLUE, who mounted a challenge three-and-half furlongs out.

Galloping strongly on the lead with Barbadian jockey, Simon Husbands, I AM DI ONE moved away on entering the straight to win by three and three-quarter lengths ahead of LADY BLUE, who stayed on for second from 74-1 outsider, CASUAL DRINK.

Nunes had a bumper day, twice saddling back-to-back winners to post a four-timer - EXHILARATE and BRUCE WAYNE in races six and seven, respectively, followed by I AM DI ONE and PRINCE CHARLES to close the 10-race card.
