Jamaica Tallawahs all-rounder Andre Russell has been ruled out of tonight's Caribbean Premier League (CPL) clash with the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) at Sabina Park at 8 p.m.

Russell, who was hit on the side of the head from a bouncer from St Lucia Zouks pacer Hardus Viljoen last night, has been advised to continue his rest and recuperation, despite being cleared of serious injury.

The incident happened in the 14th over of last night's encounter, when Russell failed to negotiate a sharp rising delivery which struck the right hander on the side of the head.

He was stretchered off and taken to hospital for scans, however he was released shortly after following a series of test.

The Tallawahs will definitely miss the batting, as well as the bowling of Russell, who made 44 and took one for 37 in four overs against the TKR when the teams first met in Port of Spain last Friday.

The Tallawahs are winless in this year's CPL following losses to TKR, the Patriots, and the Zouks.
