AFTER several weeks of intense and exciting battles, today will see the culmination of the Business House Netball competition at the National Indoor Sports Centre with the playing of five finals.

At 2 p.m., Stewart’s Auto Supplies takes on Jamaica Customs Association (JCA) ‘B’ in the opening game, which is the Junior League final. At 3:10 p.m. , Lasco will face Guardsman in Intermediate ‘B’, Jamaica Customs ‘A’ will battle Jamaica Public Service at 4:30 p.m. in Intermediate ‘A’ action and National Housing Trust (NHT) will clash with Jamaica National (JN) in Senior ‘B’. NHT will close the show at 7:30 p.m. against Scotia in the Senior ‘A’ finale.

The feature game will be a repeat of last year’s final as the Christopher Smart-coached NHT team will be hoping to continue its dominance this season over the Winston Nevers-coached Scotia team. Earlier in the season, NHT scored a one-point win over their opponents in the Open League Rally while easily beating them in preliminary-round division action later in the season.

National senior players Vangelee Williams at goal defence and Nicole Dixon at Centre, with former national player, goal shooter Thristina Harwood, will be hoping to take the defending champions to another title. Despite losing twice this season to their opponents, it should be a different affair today as in mid-week, Scotia looked impressive in scoring a big win over a strong Appliance Traders team.

EXPERIENCED TRIO

The likes of the experienced goal shooter Marsha Murphy-Dawkins, goal attack Nadine Cushnie-Vassell, and centre Patricia McCalla could do enough to give NHT their first defeat of the season.

After winning the Intermediate ‘A’ title last year and now promoted to Senior ‘B,’ NHT will be hoping for success once again.

Their winning bid will be led by the in-form goal shooter Sarijae Stewart, who was last year’s MVP, with goal defence Suthania Scott and centre Kimona Draggon.

After a one-goal defeat earlier in the season, JN will be coming all out to avenge that defeat and with national senior player Rebekah Robinson playing the goal-shooting position, she is expected to play a major role for her team’s winning bid here.
