Clarendon College successfully defended their ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup title after defeating Dinthill Technical High School 3-0 in the final at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Sunday.

Captain Earl Simpson, Andre Nicholson, and Tajhay Williams netted for the Chapelton-based school.

This is the third time CC are winning back-to-back daCosta Cup titles after also achieving the feat in the 1977/1978 seasons and the 1996 and 1998 seasons. There was no competition in 1997.

Clarendon College started the match like a house on fire, creating a number of chances in the first 15 minutes, but couldn't penetrate the Dinthill defence.

Dinthill, however, hit back at CC after 25 minutes creating a number of chances themselves, but they too found it difficult to convert their chances into a goal.

After an eventful but goalless first half, CC took the lead 10 minutes after the break. Central defender Earl Simpson rose high in the box on a CC corner kick, placing his header past the Dinthill custodian.

Dinthill gifted CC a second goal after they gave up possession in their own half. Substitute Andre Nicholson slotted home in the 81st minute.

Tajhay Williams put the icing on the cake in the second minute of stoppage time for the defending champions, slotting home a low cross from David Chambers.
