WOW WOW, last year’s champion two-year-old, easily won on his three-year-old debut yesterday leading home NIPSTER and stablemate ANOTHER AFFAIR to record his ninth straight win from 10 starts.

Ameth Robles was his usual no-frills self aboard WOW WOW, doing just enough to win by two lengths in a fast 1:18.2 for six and a half furlongs in Race 2 of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission-Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association Series for Yearling Sale graduates.

WOW WOW, trained by Gary Subratie for champion owner Michros, is the solid favourite to sweep this season’s classics, which opened in April with the 1000 Guineas for fillies, and 2000 Guineas, for colts and geldings.

Meanwhile, as the three-year-old classics approach, other trainers have started showing their hands. Philip Feanny’s debutant, MR LFCH, a speedy chestnut colt, slipped rivals at the half-mile in a maiden event to romp home by seven lengths in 1:13.2 for six furlongs.

Dane Nelson rode two winners on the 11-race card, AZARIA in the third and PATRIARCH in the 10th, joining the trio of Reyan Lewis, Kiaman McGregor and Omar Walker on five wins, three behind apprentice Anthony Allen.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park on Saturday.
