Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL), through its parent company, Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), has signed a letter of intent with South African company Intelligent Gaming, which will see local racing begin broadcast there.

Intelligent Gaming is the largest shareholder in Phumelela Gaming, operating out of South Africa.

Lorna Gooden, general manager of SVREL, told The Gleaner of the deal, which will see local broadcasting in South Africa while South African racing will be simulcast in Jamaica by May next year.

“It could start before the end date of May 2021, but it will depend on how quickly we can get through all of the developments and approvals,” she said.

“The intent is to develop gaming between SVREL and Intelligence, and what, essentially, would happen is that we would develop a product for horse racing based on South African track as well as the distribution rights for the pictures from the broadcasting of those horse races out of South Africa.

“It also involves technology collaboration and skills transfer between the two companies.”

Supreme Ventures also recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Chukka Adventure Tours, which will see tourists attending racing at Caymanas Park.
