Reigning 110m hurdles Olympic champion Omar McLeod is now a brand ambassador of shoe company Puma.

McLeod, who failed in his attempt to retain his World title in the 110m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, last year, was sponsored by American shoe company Nike since he became a professional athlete at the end of the 2015 season.

The former Kingston College athlete made the announcement on Instagram yesterday saying “happy to be a part of the #foreverfaster family.”

McLeod, before the last season, owned all the major men’s sprint hurdles titles, which made him one of the most sought-after athletes by shoe companies in athletics.

In 2016, he won the World Indoor 60m hurdles title in 7.41 seconds and followed that up with the Olympic title at the Rio Olympics in 13.05 seconds.

The following year, he posted 13.04 to claim the world outdoor title and lowered the national record to 12.90 that same year.

He was favoured to retain his world outdoor title in Doha last year, but that dream ended when he clipped a hurdle, fell, and was not able to finish the race.
