#Champs 2021 | All systems go for Girls 100m finals on Thursday afternoon
Edwin Allen High School's Brandy Hall advanced to the final of the Class One Girls 100m sprint at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls' Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Thursday morning.
Hall won the first semifinal in a time of 11.79 seconds, the fastest time among the finalists. She will be joined by Hydel High School's Shenese Walker who finished second in 11.95s and Thennelle Williams of St Jago High School, who came third in 12.01s. Holmwood Technical High School's Sashieka Steele won the second semi final in 11.99s, ahead of St Catherine's Shakeira Bowra (12.20s), and Hydel's Hughasia Fyffe who came third in 12.30s.
This final starts at 5:20 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
In Class Two, Edwin Allen's Clayton twins, Tina and Tia, also both advanced.
They qualified with the two fastest times among the field with Tina clocking 11.69s and Tia 11.71s. Hydel's Alana Reid (11.72s), and Kerrica Hill (11.77s), Petersfield High School's Alexis James (11.81s), and St Mary High School's Shantae Pryce (12.27s) also qualified automatically, while Immaculate Conception High School's Mickaila Haisley (12.22s), and St Catherine High School's Kavel Ritchie (12.43s) also advanced as the fastest losers. Their final begins at 5 p.m.
Rusea's High School's Lavanya Williams clocked the fastest time (12.13s) in her Class Three semifinal. Hydel's Shemonique Hazel won the other in 12.23s. They will be joined in the final on Thursday afternoon at 4:40 p.m. by St Catherine's Kaycian Johnson (12.47s), Vere Technical High School's Sashauna Smith (12.55s), Edwin Allen's Xavian Harrison (12.48s), and St Jago's Bryana Davidson (12.55s) as the other automatic qualifiers. St Jago's Camoy Binger (12.55s) and Hydel's Amelia Green (12.61s) are also in as the fastest losers.
