National champion Aisha Praught-Leer missed out on a spot in the Women's 1500m final at the Tokyo Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan on Monday.

Praught-Leer ran a time of 4:15.31 minutes but could only manage 13th in the event.

It was won by the Netherlands' Sifan Hassan, who after being involved in a mid-race collision and falling to the track, picked herself up from the back of the field and sped to a time of 4:05.17 minutes.
