Norway's Karsten Warholm has broken his own world record in the Men's 400m Hurdles final at the Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan on Tuesday morning.

It was a final that produced lifetime bests for five of the eight men involved.

Warholm, who lowered the world record to 46.70 seconds in July, was pushed by American Rai Benjamin all the way to the line. As a result, he lowered his own record to 45.94 seconds.

Benjamin also clocked the second fastest time in history, finishing in 46.17s for the silver medal.

The bronze went to Brazil's Alison dos Santos in a personal best and area record (PB) 46.72s. The British Virgin Island's Kyron McMaster was fourth in a PB 47.08s, and Rasmus Magi set an Estonian record of 48.11s for seventh place.
