Amazon Warriors beat Tallawahs by 46 runs

BASSETERRE, St Kitts, (CMC):

Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated Jamaica Tallawahs by 46 runs in the 26th game of the Caribbean Premier League at Warner Park on Saturday.

Batting first, the Amazon Warriors made 169 for six off 20 overs with Nicholas Pooran topscoring with 75 not out and Shimron Hetmyer and Shoaib Malik adding 23 apiece against Andre Russell 2-25.

In reply, the Tallawahs could only manage 123 after being bowled out with five balls to spare, as Kirk McKenzie 28 and Shamarh Brooks 21 led the scorers for the Jamaican franchise against Odean Smith 3-21, and Gudakesh Motie 3-25.

Both teams will again face each other on Sunday, September 12, starting at 1:30 p.m.
