West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite has so far played a patient yet effective innings to lead the regional side to 95 for two at stumps on day one of the first Test against Bangladesh in Antigua and Barbuda.

Brathwaite is unbeaten on 42 from 149 balls with four fours, as the West Indies just trail the visitors by eight runs on first innings, with eight wickets in hand.

Earlier, they host lost opener John Campbell after tea as the left hander added 23 runs before he played on to his stumps off pacer Mustafizur Rahman. Raymon Reifer playing in his second Test match, was promoted to bat at number three. He got to 11 with two boundaries before he went caught behind off Ebadot Hossain.

Nkrumah Bonner then joined his skipper and the pair batted out the session. Bonner will resume on 12 after facing 43 balls.
