Charokee Young and Kemba Nelson have become the latest Jamaican athletes to sign deals with German-based sports giants PUMA.
Young, who is making her first senior team, finished third in the Women’s 400 metres at the JAAA National Senior and Junior Championships made the announcement on her Instagram page.
“So blessed to announce that I am the newest member of the PUMA Family, cheers to new beginnings,” she posted.
Despite her finish at Trials, Young heads into the World Championships as the world leader with a time of 49.87 seconds.
Nelson, who is also making her first senior team, finished second in the Women’s 100m at the National Trials, running a personal best time of 10.88 seconds in the finals, her third sub-11 time of the championships, signed a deal through to the 2024 season.
According to Nelson, the signing is a “dream come true”.
