Fraser-Pryce enters final round of Female Athlete of the Year voting

Five-time 100-metre world champion, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, has been named a finalist for the World Athletics 2022 Female Athlete of the Year.

World Athletics made the announcement today, with Fraser-Pyrce taking aim at what would be her second such award.

Fraser-Pryce is coming off a season in which she retained her 100m world title at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon with a championships record time of 10.67 seconds.

World 100m hurdles champion and world record holder, Tobi Amusan, World and Olympic 400m hurdles champion and world record holder Sydney McLaughlin, World 20km race walk champion Kimberly Garcia and World and Olympic triple jump champion Yulimar Rojas are the other finalists for the award.

World 200m champion Shericka Jackson who was on the shortlist of nominees did not make the final cut.

The award will be presented next month.
