PRINCE MARSHALL (right), ridden by Dane Dawkins, wins the BetMakers Holiday Bonanza Trophy ahead of POSITIVE ID (Reyan Lewis) over a mile, a three-year-old and upwards Overnight Allowance Stakes, at Caymanas Park yesterday.

LEADING JOCKEY Dane Dawkins ran amock with a four-timer on yesterday’s 10-race card at Caymanas Park including 23-1 outsider PRINCE MARSHALL in the Betmakers Holiday Bonanza Trophy race at a mile.

Bidding for his first riders’ title, Dawkins’ four-timer pushed him four clear of champion rider Anthony Thomas in their see-saw battle atop the standings.

Thomas, whose live mounts have plunged since parting ways with champion-trainer elect Jason DaCosta, managed one winner, 4-5 favourite BABYLIKE in the fourth event.

Aboard PRINCE MARSHALL, Dawkins raced eighth off the pace being set by 2-5 favourite BLUE VINYL, who was being hounded by a posse of horses after slipping past BIG BIG DADDY at the half-mile marker.

Running his fourth race in five weeks, the last being a herculean effort at six furlongs last Sunday against United States-bred I’VE GOT MAGIC, BLUE VINYL failed to quicken off the turn while under pressure from POSITIVE ID on the outside and rail-running CURLIN’S AFFAIR.

POSITIVE ID and CURLIN’S AFFAIR overhauled a weary BLUE VINYL a furlong and a half out, appearing to have the race between them before a wound-up PRINCE MARSHALL started his charge wide of rivals.

POSITIVE ID pulled off from CURLIN’S AFFAIR and was stealing home under Reyan Lewis when Dawkins set down PRINCE MARSHALL for a surging last half-furlong run, winning by three-quarter length.

Dawkins, who won the previous race aboard Gary Subratie’s 5-2 chance, ALL FOR LOVE, earlier won aboard favourites SISTREN TREASURE and NORTHERN LADY in the fourth and fifth races, respectively.

Racing continues this afternoon with a nine-race card.
