JFF announces start of partnership with Adidas
The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) took to social media yesterday to announce the start of their partnership with German sport kit manufacturer Adidas.
According to the post on Twitter, the “special partnership will not only celebrate Jamaican football but also Jamaican style and culture”.
The sponsorship, which was forged through the assistance of Sports 2 Business Sports Group with former Reggae Boy Fitzroy Simpson and lawyer Jonathan Himpe, started January 1 and is expected to last four years and will include all major tournaments that Jamaica will participate in.
This will include the 2023 Women’s FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the 2024 Summer Olympics and 2026 FIFA World Cup campaigns.
JFF president Michael Ricketts said the partnership will aid in the development of the island’s football and facilitate further success at the professional level in years to come, and is looking to achieving great things together with the German sport brand.
“The partnership will support the JFF’s effort to develop Jamaican football at all levels,” Ricketts commented when the agreement was signed last August.
Adidas general manager of Global Football, Nick Craggs, said then that they were looking forward to celebrating many achievements together while contributing to the progress and future of Jamaican football at all levels.
The partnership will be launched officially in late January where the team’s new outfit will also be unveiled.
