The Reggae Girlz suffered their third straight defeat in the Cup of Nations friendly tournament in Australia on Wednesday morning, after going down 3-0 to the home team at the McDonald Jones Stadium.

Katrina Gorry (28th minute), Alex Chidiac (56th) and Caitlin Foord (69th) got the goals for Australia.

After a frenzied start, Jamaica was the first to settle and were more threatening in the opening 20 minutes, especially through Jody Brown, Kayla McKenna and Atlanta Primus.

Jamaica grew into the game as the half wore on, while the 'Matildas' struggled to get a foothold and looked out of sorts.

However, against the runner of play, Gorry fired a fierce first-time effort out of the reach of Rebecca Spencer to give the hosts the lead.

Nevertheless, the Reggae Girlz continued to unsettle their opponents and were unfortunate to go in at the break trailing, after McKenna failed to beat goalkeeper, Mackenzie Arnold, one-on-one in first half added time.

Jamaica started the second half positively, with Primus and Daniesha Blackwood getting good openings in the first few minutes.

However, the Aussies made it 2-0 when Gorry played through Chidiac, who cut inside two defenders and slammed a left foot shot past Spence in the 56th minute.

Australia grew in confidence after the goal and put the Girlz on the backfoot for the first time in the match with Foord putting the game out of reach with a superb strike from the edge of the area.

The goal took the sting out of the game and the host saw out the rest of the game quite comfortably, even missing a few chances to add to their lead.

The Reggae Girlz had lost their opening encounter in the Cup of Nations against Spain, 3-0, before losing against the Czech Republic, 2-1.
