In a late twist, Hydel High, originally placed second behind Edwin Allen by 1.5 points, are now the champions by a half point of the girls’ section of the Central Athletics Championships, which ended at GC Foster College yesterday afternoon.

A revision of the previous points standing was conducted, and following the adjustment to the Class II girls’ 100 metres hurdles results, Hydel were declared the winners after a photo finish elevated Hydel’s Jodyann Daley from fifth place to third.

In the revised points standing, Hydel have 357.5 points, with Edwin Allen getting 357. The Ferry-based Hydel have captured their first title, denying Edwin Allen their 12th consecutive.
