Injury ends Reggae Boy Palmer’s season at Coventry
LONDON (CMC):
REGGAE BOY Kasey Palmer will miss the rest of the English season with his Championship side Coventry City through injury, his manager said.
The 26-year-old Sky Blues playmaker, who scored four goals in 31 appearances this season, has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring tear against Sunderland last month.
“He will next be available for us during pre-season,” boss Mark Robins said.
“He’s having loads of work done. He’s not needed any surgical intervention but he is having injections to help the healing process of his tendon, which has been damaged significantly.”
Palmer, who began his career at Chelsea, was signed from second-tier rivals Bristol City last summer and has been a key player for Robins’ side, who lie ninth in the Championship table and challenging for a play-off place.
TIME TO HEAL
Robins added: “It needs time to heal and, at this stage of the season, a 10-week injury will rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.
“It’s a shame because he has been very, very good for us this season.”
Palmer was one of eight UK-born players who received their first call-up by Jamaica in March 2021, making his full international debut for the Reggae Boyz in a 4-1 defeat that month against the United States.
