Unruly Boss upsets at 17-1 in feature

UNRULY BOSS ran a dogged race against the rails to spring a 17-1 upset at six furlongs in yesterday’s Henry W. Jaghai Trophy, outbattling 3-5 favourite EAGLE ONE in the stretch run.

Fitted with blinkers for the sharp sprint, UNRULY BOSS broke smartly with leading rider Tevin Foster and disputed the lead with EAGLE ONE before an unlikely leader, ALEXA’S DREAM, circled rivals from stall nine.

With expected leader MADELYN’S SUNSHINE slowly away, and TAURUS BOY off to another stuttering start, ALEXA’S DREAM led under pressure from EAGLE ONE on her outside and UNRULY BOSS running the rail.

Attacking ALEXA’S DREAM as a team with EAGLE ONE, UNRULY BOSS led marginally off the home turn, full of running, and responding readily to Foster’s urgings.

EAGLE ONE swooped down to attack a furlong and a half out but UNRULY BOSS found extra inside the final furlong to complete a two-timer for the owner-jockey-trainer combination of Busy Racing Stable, Foster and Dennis Pryce, after earlier landing the second event with ZABRATONE.

Foster’s two-timer, his second in as many days, moved him to 21 winners, three clear of Reyan Lewis and champion rider Dane Dawkins, who rode one winner apiece on the 10-race card.
