Veronica Campbell's two-decade-old Class One girls’ 100 metres record is under threat as Hydel's Alana Reid and Edwin Allen's Serena Cole produced scintillating times in their semifinals at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships.

Reid clocked 11.16 seconds to win her semifinal heat, 0.03 seconds off the 11.13 mark Campbell-Brown set in 2001. It was also the fastest time among the finalists.

Cole clocked 11.17 seconds in her semifinal heat, with Petersfield's Alexis James in 11.48, being the other top qualifier. Edwin Allen's Toni-Ann Forbes, St Catherine High's Kamaria Knight, Wolmer's Girls’ Mickayla Gardener, St Mary High's Shantae Pryce and Glacian Loutin complete the lineup of finalists.

In Class Two Holy Childhood's Abigail Wolfe clocked 11.59 seconds to lead the finalists. William Knibb's Lavanya Williams with 11.78 and St Jago's Bryana Davidson with 11.87 were the other top qualifiers. Hydel's Shemonique Hazel, St Catherine's Kaycian Johnson, Immaculates Shevi-Anne Shim, Brittney McCormack of Bridgeport and Edwin Allen's Doiellia Lewis are the other finalists.

In Class Three, Theianna-Lee Terrelonge of Edwin Allen stamped her class clocking 11.63, the fastest time among the finalists. Natrece East of Wolmers (11.73) and St Jago's Poshanna-Lee Blake (12.09) are the other top qualifiers. St Jago's Adora Campbell, Vere Technical's Tiana Oliver, Edwin Allen's Yasheika Sinclair, Wolmer's Tiana Marshall and Manchester High's Shamoya Birthwright complete the finalists.

In Class Four, the Immaculate duo of Kayla Johnson and Naje Brown had the fastest (12.11) and second fastest (12.26) respectively, heading into the final. Holmwood Technical's Maria Baker (12.67) was the other top qualifier.

Hydel's Gabrielle Morgan, Mount Alvernia's Giana Murray, St Jago's Martina Parkes and Tecia-Ann Grant, and Tresha-Lee Sutherland of Clarendon College complete the lineup.

The finals begin at 7:27. p.m.
