#Champs2023 | KC holds narrow edge over STETHs heading into Class one 4x100m final

Kingston College’s (KC) powerful Class One will lead all qualifiers to the final of the 4x100 metres relays after winning heat one of the preliminaries today at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

KC asserted their dominance in the heat to win in 40.68 seconds, which narrowly beat St. Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS), who also qualified for the final in a time of 40.69 to win heat two.

The Class One final will be contested by KC, STETHS, St. Jago, Steer Town, Edwin Allen, Calabar, Wolmer’s and St. George’s College.

In Class Two, Calabar’s Nickecoy Bramwell, Keano Charles, Shevaughn Pryce and Khamani Gordon sped to a preliminary best of 41.03 seconds, which won heat one ahead of St. George’s and Clarendon College.

The Class Two final will be contested by Calabar, St. George’s College, Clarendon College, Jamaica College (JC), STETHS, KC, Excelsior and St Catherine High.

KC’s Class Three quartet of Azriel Allen, Ashane Benjamin, Kamaury Brown and Orandy Campbell booked their spot in Saturday’s final, easing through qualification, winning heat one in 44.32 seconds ahead of St. George’s College in 45.51.

The Class Three final will be contested by KC, St. George’s College, Cornwall College, Herbert Morrison, St. Elizabeth Technical, St. Jago, Petersfield and Wolmer’s Boys’.
