SENSATIONAL MOVE’s third-place finish in the Kingston behind MOJITO and HUNTSMAN franked his 10-length victory on debut three weeks earlier, making him the horse to beat at seven furlongs in the Monday Morning Trophy for non-winners of two races.

Take last year’s champion two-year-old, MOJITO, out of the Kingston, a smashing 12-length victory, which put him on another planet. Coming off the home turn, it was the three least-experienced runners who mattered, ABILITY, HUNTSMAN and SENSATIONAL MOVE.

ABILITY went on a suicide mission, trying to steal a march on MOJITO, who brushed him aside three furlongs out. HUNTSMAN afterwards went in chase off the home while SENSATIONAL MOVE’s bid from the half-mile had him circling rivals and collaring ABILITY a furlong and a half out in third place.

It was a plucky performance by SENSATIONAL MOVE on his second outing, finishing five lengths behind HUNTSMAN, a near 15-length winner on debut in a smashing 1:33.4.

SENSATIONAL MOVE’s run has earned him topweight 121lb against experienced foes. However, sitting almost level with HUNTSMAN and running a cracker in the Kingston should easily get him over the Monday Morning speed bump with nothing as classy in the line-up.

ANONYMOUS, who was fourth in the Prince Consort Stakes behind MOJITO, faded as quickly as he showed down the backstretch in the Kingston. Though FROM SHEER TO BEN has worked really well since winning on debut, clocking 1:08.4 for five and a half furlongs last Monday, he won in average time, posting six furlongs in 1:15.0.

SENSATIONAL MOVE’s stablemate, ALL FOR LOVE, could very well be the exacta horse. Note the races in which she has finished outside the money, the Thornbird Stakes and the Portmore, races with strong splits and holding speed, negating her run-on style.

Note how ALL FOR LOVE closed into third behind RHYTHM BUZZ and ARIA’S REIGN at a mile, confirming her preference for a slower pace and distances beyond six furlongs, making her the perfect exacta closer.
