Portmore United walked away with the first major silverware of the football season after they defeated Cavalier 2-0 in the inaugural Lynk Cup National knockout final at Sabina Park on Friday night.

Chevaughn Walsh, lobbed the ball into an unguarded net in the 35th minute to give the St Catherine side the lead before Lamar Walker sealed the win in the 63rd minute, firing home a loose ball from six yards.

Portmore took home a cash prize of $1.65 million, while Cavalier received $1,450,000.
